Jane has made outstanding contributions to New Zealand through decades of leadership in the Irish community, a distinguished career in business and professional services, and dedicated public service as a Justice of the Peace.
Jane arrived in New Zealand in 1988 and quickly became part of the Irish community. Building new relationships in NZ was an important step in making it her home away from home. After her children grew, she chose to give back to the wider community by becoming a Justice of the Peace. She is committed to keeping Irish heritage alive within the diaspora and passing the culture on to the next generation. Jane also serves as National Coordinator of The Friends of Ireland — The Tara Trust and has led recent collaborative events involving Irish clubs, GAA, Mná na hÉireann, Irish dancers and the Embassy of Ireland.
Highlights: • National Coordinator, Friends of Ireland – The Tara Trust: promoting events nationwide and assisting the Irish diaspora
